German American Business Association of California, Inc. and the MIT Club of Northern California Clean Technology Program invite you to this joint event. Towards Energy Autonomy New Politics for Renewable Energy. This is also the topic of Hermann Scheer’s latest book. Hermann Scheer will discuss how policy models fostering renewable energy can pave the way for energy autonomy. He will also discuss the current trends regarding the upcoming review of the German EEG (feed-in-tariff) which is due by the end of 2007 / beginning 2008 and which has created the largest solar energy market in the world.

@etiennealive After one and a half year still the most complete lecture involved with the climatproblems on Youtube. Absolutely worthwhile studying, more than one time !

Can you use other light sources on solar panels and get same energy like wrapping solar panels with El wire or electroluminescent glow wire or fiber optic glow wire and get more energy than you put into it?

since i have -4 that gives me no much hope for the future..
if you dont agree please make a statement why?
Germany already has 10% renewables. And we had peak oil in 2008.

The odacity of hope;) Were going for cleaner and cheaper energie:D
Hermann you are a beacon of hope and as i hear were also working on policy here in Holland.
But dont believe the CO2 hype. Thats only for getting the most of us behind the energy convergence.

Disturbed504: I think that’s becouse of the nature of the average umen personality. We only start to react when the water is untill the lips, we say in The Netherlands. Examples are recent New Orleans, and the flooding of The Netherlands in 1953. After the disasters people realisated protective systems to cope with the flooding problems. We can reflect this with the upcoming energy problems. A few economic crisis/disasters further and the way for new techniques will burst open everywhere.

I find it hard to understand how supposidly inteligent people go along with the notion of man made global warming. We all support clean energy inititives so why all the lies

Since 4 days I’ve heard about Dr. Hermann Sheer, and since took time to hear him. As far as I am concerned, his vision will be the future. I’m in solar energy developement my self. Everything fits, with my personal vision.

116 who killed the electric car 4k life of ice car electric car 100k life this is economically detrimental to the auto industry. 119:car will be electric powered new tech will develop,120: this is really the second industrial revolution. 124: it is necessary to have alliances in RE. There it is folks RE is here to stay it is a lie that RE is not economically responsible initial investment is high but once we have recouped cost the rest is gravy baby. NOVA SAVED BY THE SUN Herman is featured.

101: most of these conferences have but only one result to have another conference next year.103: we need the organization where there is enough human power.104: (he takes questions)106:nothing can be implemented faster than renewables.107: a windmill is installed within one week each module can work as soon as installation,110: this student is looking at things now not as they will be! 112:45 his answer means new tech will demand less energy 113:30 no doubt the car of the future is electric.

32:30 Who will have the courage to tell the next generation that we had the opportunity to solve the energy we could not afford 3 or 4 cents per KWH! 35:22 energy consumption is always decentralized. 36:30 Guarding these pipelines are not in the 10k soldiers to guard this pipeline alone. 38: conventional energy is supplied by a long chain(This energy system is like Edison was in respects to Dc vs alternating power.Firing Tesla only prololged suffering back then as does failure to change now).

Developed nations can no longer ignore the needs of 3rdworld economies we have to be proactive in solving their problems dealing with energy by producing enough solar ovens and farming tech so these areas can develop not only their economy but their quality of life so that they too can develop new technologies and create jobs and reduce population. They can farm biofuels along with their own food if they no longer have to spend as much time seeking wood or charcoal. This will allow reforestation.

I dont think the tech is at its best but it is now to the point to where those that dont get in now will find their economy severely lagging inside of 10 years. What will happen is the nations that are involved in amp-ing up green energy the soonest will pull ahead of other markets. This is only if technology doesnt develop radically efficient generating methods. Green tech will prove to be a financial gain quicker than calculated. Grid systems will see better managment with solar tech.

The lecture was very interesting and the ideas which introduced dr Hermann Sheer were sometimes extraordinary (like “…much more than energy experts tell us…(they) are the part of the problem and not a part of the solution…”). When he is going to close the speech he said something like that: “… close the speech of the Polish…” (64:09 min), why they cut out the citation ??? It was very important if that he wanted use…
